Right now Egmont Aviation instructor, certified to EASA standards, is working at the Aviation Personnel Training School of Turkmenhowayollary in Ashgabat. Over six weeks he is delivering a professional development programme for the school’s instructor pilots.
The programme is built around the Diamond DA40 and DA42 NG, reliable and in-demand aircraft widely used in flight training. The instructor runs a series of theoretical sessions and flight simulator training based on examples and scenarios specific to these two types.
Key focus areas:
➤ Piloting technique. The finer points of handling the aircraft;
➤ Operational characteristics. How the DA40 and DA42 NG behave in day-to-day flight training;
➤ Complex flight scenarios. Working through demanding situations in line with EASA standards;
➤ Flight safety. Maintaining high safety standards at every stage of training.
For the instructor pilots, the programme is a chance to compare their own approaches with international practice, analyse difficult scenarios with an expert and practise methods that meet European requirements. The exchange of experience strengthens the instructors’ professional competence and helps them pass knowledge on to cadets more effectively.
The benefit reaches beyond the sessions themselves: the knowledge and skills gained will be used in the school’s daily work and in the continued training of its cadets. The school describes the visit as a significant step in its development and in raising the quality of flight training.
The DA40 and DA42 NG are a core of modern flight training: the single-engine DA40 is used for initial training and the twin-engine DA42 NG for multi-engine training. For instructors working on these types, a thorough knowledge of their characteristics and a consistent teaching approach are essential.
Egmont Aviation thanks the Aviation Personnel Training School of Turkmenhowayollary for the warm welcome and productive cooperation, and wishes the instructor pilots every success.
