Right now, a new group of Uzbekistan Airways cadets is in the middle of their studies at Egmont Aviation, gaining new skills in the EASA environment. The training is delivered under the long-term agreement between Egmont Aviation and Uzbekistan Airways and prepares future airline pilots for work in a European regulatory and operational setting.

The programme is in progress. Here is what it looks like:
➤ Duration: about 18 months in total, including 3 months of practical flying in Slovenia;
➤ Flying: around 65 flight hours per cadet on the Diamond DA40 NG with a Garmin G1000 NXi glass cockpit;
➤ Language: English on every flight;
➤ Training routes: cross-border flights into Austria, Italy and Croatia;
➤ Full flight cycle: briefing, preflight, flight, debrief, followed on every sortie.

The Diamond DA40 NG is a modern training aircraft equipped with a Garmin G1000 NXi glass cockpit, the kind of integrated digital flight deck cadets will meet again in airline operations. Cross-border routes into Austria, Italy and Croatia take training beyond a single airfield and a single airspace, so cadets practise radio communication, navigation and procedures in different countries within a short distance of the Maribor base.

Day by day, the cadets are building the habits of airline pilots: working in a European regulatory setting, communicating in English and operating across different airspace and procedures. Every flight is a full professional cycle, not just time in the air. The briefing-preflight-flight-debrief sequence develops discipline, decision-making and the habit of learning from every sortie, which are core skills for a professional pilot.

The goal is clear: the flight deck of a Boeing 767 or an Airbus A320 with Uzbekistan Airways. On completion, each cadet receives a certificate.

Egmont Aviation is proud to be part of this journey. We wish the cadets steady progress and many safe flying hours, and we will keep you updated as the programme moves forward.
